When I went to the park yesterday and saw the swings I thought of you and the swing in your garage.
I remember rolling the dice for you when you played Tavla and you saying 'Never mind' when I rolled a low number. Now when we play Tavla I ask for your help to roll doubles.
I remember you telling me and Jem you had a surprise for us and you would take us to your garage and give us chewing gums.
I miss you Dede and will always love you.

Finally after many games against Jem, I managed to beat him yesterday, even though I still helped him as I normally do.
For once it was I throwing the doubles, as appose to Jem, I even said to Jem that you were helping me beat him.
As soon as I picked up my last piece, I used one of your old sayings - Not tonight Joséphine
p.s For those who are not aware, Jem is only 7!!, no more Mr nice guy from me when I play Jem next....

Although we haven't met on many occasions, I feel that we have a common bond in our lovely grandchildren Aaliyah, Jem and Maiya. They speak of you often, and always with love. I know you will be be missed by them and the rest of your family in the years to come.
I must also take this opportunity to thank you for making my daughter Kate so welcome in your family and for the love and support you have always shown to her and Hak.
My thoughts are with your family at this time.

I didn't have the opportunity to get to know you well, but during the few times we did meet you left an impression on me. A very kind, strong and gentle man who along with your lovely wife, always made me feel very welcome.
In the absence of a father of our own, I know my sister Kate, has always loved and respected you as her Dad and I want to thank you for being there for her and supporting her throughout the last 13 years. Hak is a credit to you and in turn, my nieces (Aaliyah & Maiya) and my nephew (Jem) are a credit to him - and we all know where he got his fantastic fathering skills!
I would like to take this opportunity to offer my condolences to Fatma and the rest of the family - my thoughts and prayers are very much with you all x

Dad,
You will be pleased to know in the short time I have taught both Jem and Aaliyah how to play Tavla (Backgammon), but obviously no where near as good as you would have done.
We had a little tournament today, the winner stayed on to play the next opponent, Caner started against Jem, it was a close two games, but Caner managed to beat both Jem and Aaliyah, however I was a tad too good for Caner and managed to beat him twice and he won once.
I hope you are watching down over us with a smile on your face to see your favoured game being continued in your absence.
I wished you and I had more time to play together, however I am very grateful (and always will be) you taught me how to play Tavla at a very young age, in doing so it has allowed me to pass on the game you loved so much to my children.
Many years from now, you and I will get to play again, no doubt you will beat me as you have always done so.
